Pakenham Market Place

Pakenham Shopping Centre opened to the public on 1st December 2011. The project consisted of:
  • 26,000 square meter basement
  • 26,000 square meters of ground floor PT deck, of which 20,000 square meters consisted of retail leasing space.
  • 46 speciality shops
  • Big W, Woolworths and Dick Smith.
     
Inclusive of the roof area, a total of 72,000 square meters required covering by the site management. The project was surrounded by 4 local roads. During the project a total of 14 weeks rain delays were logged. In June 2011, the client approached Hacer and asked if acceleration could be implemented to ensure the original opening date was met regardless of the rain delays.
 
Over the next 4 weeks and after much discussion, negotiation and planning, it was decided that the date could be met. The total build was therefore delivered in approximately 46 calendar weeks. Average numbers of daily workers on site were 250-300 men. In the final 2 weeks, up to 400 men were on site on any given day.
